“Over the past 15 years, Brad observed a startling change in corporate America; the latest generation of adult workers known as Generation Y grew up immersed in new technologies, such as multi-player video games, Speak & Spell, Internet Pen Pals and a computer in the home. Along with parents who viewed them as peers and a micromanaged activity list of karate classes and dance lessons. And now you expect them to sit in a cubicle for 8 hours a day? They can’t do it.”

“Because each generation after 1977 was raised with technology in their toys, they have learned to manipulate digital information before they could read, write, and sometimes… before they could speak.“Unbeknown to most, companies such as Kodak derive 50% of their current revenue from the same technologies mentioned above. Devices that did not exist 5 years ago that directly take advantage of the working and shopping habits of Generation Y.”

Joe Cubiotti Photography

“Will Baby Boomers stop being relevant
in the not too distant future?”

Joe Cubiotti Photography

Szollose studied this phenomenon and realized that everyone—business owners, executives, parents, school teachers and college professors —would be facing a whole new generation that they were incapable of communicating with. Each generation must be made aware of this “cultural” difference and adjust their management methods accordingly if they wish to succeed. The result of this research is Brad’s new book, Liquid Leadership: From Woodstock to Wikipedia – Multigenerational Management Ideas That Are Changing The Way We Run Things.”

“Are you ready to adjust your leadership style to the 21st Century?”

Yesterday I had the pleasure of of photographing the very first Brooklyn Nets game at their new home in Brooklyn, New York.

 Joe Cubiotti Photography

The Nets, formerly from New Jersey were initially scheduled to play the Knicks before the arrival of Hurricane Sandy which  postponed the teams first home game at the new Stadium. Despite everything going on in New York after Hurricane Sandy, there is always time for Sports and Entertainment.

 Joe Cubiotti Photography

Facing the Toronto Raptors, the Brooklyn Nets embraced their first victory at the new stadium with a win of 107 to100. Icon Chrisette Michele ignited the energy throughout the stadium with her performance of the national anthem followed by a surprising appearance by the Brooklyn Nets new mascot, the Brooklyn Knight.

While I was in Detroit with my boy Svet, the Hip-House Violinist from this season of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, our team found out that the Brooklyn Nets selected him to be the Half-Time Performer for the very first show at Barclays Center following the teams move from New Jersey.

General Manager Billy King and Mikhail Prokhorov, the team’s Russian owner both attended the opening game as well as icon Jay-Z with the infamous Beyonce at his side.

This past week I had the pleasure of photographing the first night of the Fashion Week of Rochester along with an outrageous Bud Light Lime Party in New York City. Part of a summer long series of #TurnUpSummer events, the final party of the season featured performances by the iconic Swizz Beatz, Jermaine Dupri and Araabmusik.

Hosted at the Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club  in Manhattan overlooking East River, the Bud Light Lime event was held to cap off the summer series with the most memorable and iconic event of the season.

Joe Cubiotti Photography

I also had the pleasure of working with some other fantastic clients over the past month including two great friends, Christina and Chris who were in need of a photographer to shoot their Engagement Portraits as well as covering a Music Festival in Westchester New York featuring a performance by Svet the Hip-House Violinist and Doug E. Fresh.

The 2 day series of events began with a promotional appearance featuring 2012 Olympic Gold Winner Alex Morgan along with the U.S. Women Vs. Costa Rica Game the following day in Rochester, NY.

Factory People

In Cities, Towns & Villages, People on May 9, 2011 at 6:21 pm

I’ve been racing around like a madman trying to find work while finishing the work I already have. It’s amazing how fast time flies when you are busy and how slow it can pass when your not! These past few weeks have been a complete roller-coaster ride of an experience for me, especially working in the field of Portrait Photography.  I’m constantly trying to network myself in order to get my artwork out to the “world” so it has been great meeting so many new people lately. Whether it’s new clients or fellow artists, everyone has been very supportive of my work and everything I am hoping to accomplish! Without those people I don’t know where the inspiration would come from…

I’m hoping to make it into Manhattan sometime this week to see some Andy Warhol work so if anybody is up for seeing a few of his exhibits let me know!

Stay classy
